Alesha Anjanette Dixon was born on 7th October 1978 and is a singer-songwriter, dancer, model and television personality. Her music career was launched when she joined the all-female R&B/garage trio Mis-Teeq.  The band split in 2005 and Alesha pursued her music career as a solo artist.

Her debut solo album, Fired Up was released in 2006 but she didn't have as much success as she would have liked.

In 2007 Alesha became a contestant on Strictly Come Dancing, going on to win the competition.  This success led to a comeback and she released a second album, entitled The Alesha Show in 2008.  This time her success was forthcoming as the album went platinum.

Her passion for the show continued and in September 2009 she became a judge on Strictly Come Dancing, replacing Arlene Phillips.

Alesha has appeared on the cover of Cosmopolitan, FHM, Arena, Company, Bliss and other magazines and in various other editorial fashion shoots. In 2008 she was awarded the "Britain's sexiest legs" title beating Cheryl Cole, Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss amongst others.

Alesha married MC Harvey, formerly of So Solid Crew, in 2005 but filed for divorce just over a year later after he had an affair with Javine Hylton.  She then dated Aston Villa footballer John Carew, but they separated in 2008.
