Cheryl Ann Cole (née Tweedy) is without doubt one of the success stories of recent years. Born on 30th June 1983 she is an English singer, songwriter, actress, dancer, model, and television personality.
Cheryl rose to fame in 2002 after becoming a member of pop group Girls Aloud through ITV's reality television programme Popstars. Her success with the Band has been a steamroller of success after success with 20 consecutive UK top ten singles (including four number ones), two UK number one albums, and nominations for five BRIT Awards, winning Best Single in 2009 for "The Promise".
In 2008, she became a judge on The X Factor and was recently dubbed "the nation's new sweetheart" after her heartbreaking split from England footballer Ashley.
She is now also recognised as a style icon, appearing on covers of British Vogue, Elle & Harper's Bazaar. In 2009, Cole became the new face of L'Oréal.
Cheryl Cole's debut album, 3 Words, was released in October 2009. The album was well received by her fans spending two weeks at number one in November 2009 and subsequently went platinum.
