Kate Garry Hudson was born on 19th April 1979 and is an American actress. She shot to fame in 2001 after winning a Golden Globe and receiving several nominations, including a nomination for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress, for her role in Almost Famous.
She followed this up by starring in the hit film How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, and has gone on to feature in numerous other Hollywood films including 'Raising Helen', 'The Skeleton Key', 'You, Me and Dupree', 'Fool's Gold' and 'Bride Wars' She recently starred in the musical 'Nine' in 2009.
Kate was born in Los Angeles and is the daughter of Academy Award-winning actress Goldie Hawn and Bill Hudson although she goes to huge lengths to disassociate herself from their stardom - stating she wants to be famous in her own right rather than riding the coat-tails of her parents.
Kate married Chris Robinson, the frontman for The Black Crowes, in December 2000 and in January 2004 gave birth to son Ryder Russell. In August 2006 Kate announced they separated and filed for divorce later that year.
In May 2009, Kate began dating New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez and she was seen many times during the 2009 World Series in the crowd, however they split in December of the same year. She is currently rumoured to be dating Matt Bellamy of British band Muse.
