Lindsay Denise Lohan was born on 2nd July 1986. She is an American actress, model, fashion designer and pop singer-songwriter probably most renowned for her off the screen antics as well as on-screen roles.
She began her career as a child fashion model before rising to fame in the film Mean Girls. She has also starred in films such as Herbie: Fully Loaded and A Prairie Home Companion.
Things went wrong for her around 2007 though then she was twice charged with 'driving under the influence' and subsequently had three visits to rehabilitation facilities. This led to several lost movie deals and notoriety amongst the international press.
She was able to get her career back on track when she guest starred in the TV series Ugly Betty in 2008.
Away from the big screen Lindsay launched her singing career in 2004 with the album Speak, followed by A Little More Personal in 2005.
A hit with the male population, Lindsay has featured in various men's magazines. She was voted 10th on the list of "100 Sexiest Women" by readers of FHM in 2005, whilst she was ranked 3rd on Maxim's Hot 100 list a year later. Indeed, she went on to rank top in 2007.
Lindsay launched '6126' - her own clothing range, a name designed to represent Marilyn Monroe's birth date (June 1, 1926). The line started with leggings, before expanding to a full collection, covering 280 pieces as of April 2010.
Despite her sometimes negative image, Lindsay gave fund-raising assistance to the British Red Cross in 2010 to help following the devastating earthquake in Haiti.
