Robyn Rihanna Fenty was born February 20th 1988 although she 'trades' under the name 'Rihanna'. She is an R&B singer, songwriter and model who was born in Barbados.
She moved to the United States at the age of 16 to pursue a recording career and subsequently signed a contract with Def Jam Recordings after auditioning for then-label head Jay-Z.
She released her debut studio album in 2005 which made the top ten in the US Billboard 200 chart. Further success followed soon thereafter - her third album, Good Girl Gone Bad was released in 2007, which peaked at number two on US Billboard 200 and featured five top ten hits including three US number one hit singles. Without doubt her biggest hit in the UK has been "Umbrella" which ironically topped the UK charts throughout most of the summer when the weather did nothing but rain!
