Helen Elizabeth "Tess" Daly was born 27 April 1969 and is an English television presenter. She is married to the presenter Vernon Kay. Tess grew up in Birch Vale near New Mills, Derbyshire and has a younger sister, Karen. Tess appeared in two Duran Duran videos in the 1990's, both from the album Liberty. She also appeared in the video for The Beloved's 1993 song "Sweet Harmony".

After working as a model, her first television appearance was in 2000, when she hosted the 'Find Me A Model' competition on Channel 4's The Big Breakfast. Her career has then taken off and she has presented shows including Singled Out, Smash Hits TV, SMTV Live, Back To Reality, the first series of Make Me a Supermodel and Strictly Come Dancing in all seven series to date. Tess did miss a couple of episodes in Season 2 due to being pregnant with her first daughter. She is a possible contender to replace Samantha Harris as the co-host of the American version, Dancing With the Stars.

Tess has recently hosted This Time Tomorrow, the National Lottery show for BBC1 and she presented Children in Need with Terry Wogan and Fearne Cotton. She won the special version of Strictly Come Dancing against Wogan, where she was partnered with Anton du Beke. She co-hosted the Royal Variety Performance 2008.

She is the face of lingerie company La Senza in the UK and appeared in their Steal the Show Christmas 2009 campaign.

She married Vernon Kay on 12 September 2003 in Bolton.  They have two children, Phoebe Elizabeth Kay, and Amber Isabella Kay.

In January 2007, they co-presented the second series of Just the Two of Us on BBC One.
